A memorial service for Dave Tennant will be on Thursday, May 3, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Marvin United Methodist Church Chapel. Arrangements are with Stewart Family Funeral Home.
Dave Tennant of Tyler passed away Saturday, April 28, 2012, at The Hospice of East Texas HomePlace.
He was born Dec. 3, 1940, in Charleston, W. Va., to the late David Lewis and Virginia Smith Tennant.
Dave attended Morris Harvey College in Charleston, W.Va., and The University of Texas at Austin. He was a Methodist. Dave was an assistant Scout master, an avid reader, loved history, birds, trains, traveling and gardening. He especially loved his dog Tia and spoiling his granddaughters.
He is survived by his loving family including his wife, Larita Tennant of Tyler; son, David Tennant Jr. and wife Monica; daughters, Debra Sober and husband Butch of Medford, Ore., Laurie McIntire and husband Terry of Camden, N.C.; grandchildren, Riley Madison Tennant, Cambridge Claire Tennant of Tyler, Allison Cosgrove of Bryan, and Cory Sober of Medford, Ore.; sisters, Mary Beth Gallatin of Port Arthur and Janie Jones of Port Neches.
